JAMES W.R. TAYLOR, B.A., LL.B. (retired)
After 43 years of practice, James W.R. Taylor fully retired from the practice of law in 2015. Jim was the original founder of the firm in 1973 and led the way through many transitions over the years, always taking a leading edge approach to providing excellent and efficient legal services to the community. Jim was born and raised in Swift Current and after articling, he opened his own law firm in Nipawin in 1973. While Jim continued to develop his practice, he led the way in the development of legal technology with his law firm being selected as a pilot site when ISC transitioned into its current online submission technology.
During Jim’s time in Nipawin, he was actively involved within the political landscape and economic development of Nipawin, serving in roles such as the Mayor of Nipawin and the chairperson of the Board for Kelsey Trail Health Region. Jim was very active in Nipawin’s swim club while raising his family and he and his wife Gloria continue to both be involved in coaching the team. Throughout his years in the community, Jim served on numerous volunteer boards and service club groups, most notably with the Kinsmen Club and the Rotary Club of Nipawin. Jim and his wife, Gloria, currently winter in Mazatlan, Mexico and spend as much time with their children and grandchildren in Kelowna, and Saskatoon.
